About Julie Peterson

Julie was born and raised in Bellingham, Washington.  She can remember her love for art as early as seven years of age, sitting and drawing horses for hours.  She is a self taught artist. She raised her family and worked part time.  Her career as a full time artist began in 1996, now she can't believe she would want to do anything else.

She explored Art Shows  as far away as Oklahoma.  She now resides in Moses Lake, but seeking residence in Wenatchee soon.  Moving to the east side of Washington isn't as hard as people think.  Julie and her husband Jim have always loved spending time on the east side of Washington.  The extra sunshine does wonders for a person.  Growing flowers and vegetables is a bonus.

Since moving to the east side she can truly see the beauty in the new landscapes with atmosphere. The basin has beautiful skies in the morning and evening.  She has just started anew series in sky landscapes.  2012 has been very fulfilling and busy with paint outs and traveling, as well as discovering new photo reference material for future use.  She loves connecting with nature and the land.

Her medium is in Oils on Canvas and Hardboard.  She paints urban, rural and wildlife landscapes.  Her style is defined as traditional realism.  Each piece of work has many hours of devoting layers of  paint which gives each piece its rich brilliant color. The challenge and new endeavors is what keeps her spirits high.  The ability to be creative and share what she does with others is a great gift and honor and makes her very happy.
